Basic Windows hotkeys

• To open a file Ctrl-O
• To save a file Ctrl-S
• To print a file Ctrl-P
• To close a program Alt-F4

Advanced hotkeys

• Select all (text, files, messages etc.) Ctrl-A
• To close a Window Ctrl-W
• Activate the Start button Ctrl-F2
• To switch to the next tab Ctrl-Tab
• To switch to the next open program Alt-
• These two only work on WTS.

Copying / Moving a file

• Open Windows Explorer or My Computer.
• Select the file(s).
• Edit Copy/Cut (or Ctrl-C/X)
• Select destination drive or folder.
• Edit Paste (or Ctrl-V)

Quick Launch

• Locate the program you want to add to via Start
  Programs.
• Right-click the icon for the program and drag it
  onto the Quick Launch toolbar (to the right
  ofyour Start button).
• Drop the icon where you would like to have it.
• Select Create Shortcut(s) Here.

Adding a shortcut to a folder to Start

• Open Windows Explorer.
• Right-click a folder.
• Drag the folder to your Start button.
• Drag it up to where you want the shortcut.
• Release the right-mouse button.
• Select Create Shortcut(s) Here.

Creating a .zip file

• Create a temporary folder.
• Right-click the folder and click Compress
  tofilename.zip.
• Rename the .zip file (which will be in the folder
  above)if necessary.
• If PowerArchiver does not start, go to Start
  Programs I-P PowerArchiver and try again.

Extracting files from .zip files

• Create a temporary folder.
• Move the .zip file into the folder.
• Right-click the .zip file.
• Click Extract here.

Hotkeys for accents

• Hold down Ctrl and press the accent.
• Wait.
• Press the letter.
• and Shift if the accent is on the top of the key

Other accents

• Go to Insert Symbol and see the lower partof
  the window for any hotkey.
• You can also create hotkeys for accented
  characters atInsert Symbol Symbols
  Shortcut Key.
