Title: Drawing conclusions

1
Drawing conclusions
  • We often need to reach our own conclusion(s) from
evidence we are given. We often are able to imply
    things from information given.

The pot plants on my windowsill are all wilted.
They are standing the the sunshine They have not
been watered They are a weeping variety

    frozen yesterday morning

school. Barry, one of the pupils, has a high
temperature and aching muscles, both of which are
    symptoms of flu.

Drawing conclusions
  • The winter has been very severe. When we have a
severe winter, the daffodils usually flower late.

  • Jane arrived before Jim, although they both set
    off together by car.

6
Drawing conclusions
  • The murder victim died at 900p.m. on Saturday.
It is suspected that he may have been poisoned,
but it is not yet known whether it was poison or
the blow to the head which killed him. The injury
to the head would have caused death instantly,
had he still been alive when struck. It was now
discovered that Mrs Brown, the chief suspect, was
with friends 5 miles away from the murder scene
between 700p.m. and 1000p.m. on Saturday.
