Wake Up, Corey!

• Once upon a time, there was a very sleepy boy
  named Corey. He was so sleepy, that every day he
  came into class, he fell asleep right after the
  teacher took role. He would wake up when the
  teacher called on him, answer a question, and
  then go back to sleep. This went on for a whole
  semester, failing both quarters, of course.

• Shortly, after third quarter began, an amazing
  thing happened. Corey came into class and
  instead of sleeping, as usual, he stayed awake.
  He not only managed to stay awake through the
  entire period, but did all of his work and wrote
  a beautiful essay to boot! His teacher thought
  that it was so nice to actually make his
  acquaintance, at last! When she asked him why he
  decided to join the class, he said that hed
  passed his first section on Study Island. After
  trying for a whole semester, he was able to
  finally find the success that motivated him to do
  better in that class.

• His teacher was so happy for him that she said,
  If you want to, you can even work at home and
  try to get more sections done on your own.
  Corey did that and the first week he finished
  three more sections, earning three more Blue
  Ribbons! The following week, he completed three
  more! His teacher was so excited for him that
  she gave him one of the schools prestigious
  PAWS awards (Progress towards Attitude and
  WorkhabitS) the first one shed ever given one
  to a student (the program had just started!) He
  beamed with self-confidence and pride!!

• The sad news is that a week later, Corey was
  pulled out of school to be home-schooled by his
  parents. He had been struggling in all of his
  other classes and they decided that this move
  would be best for him, for now. He told his
  teacher that hed be back someday and she told
  him hes always welcome to join her class again
  and that hed be missed. As he turned to wave
  goodbye to the class, she noticed his PAWS award
  sticker on the back of his binder. This is why
  teachers teach, she thought to herself as she
  turned back to her class.
