What is Clinical Psychology?

• Clinical psychologists aim to reduce
  psychological distress and to enhance and promote
  psychological well-being.
• They work with people throughout the life-span
  and with those with learning disabilities.

• Mental or physical health problems
• anxiety and depression
• serious and enduring mental illness
• adjustment to physical illness
• neurological disorders
• addictive behaviours
• childhood behaviour disorders
• personal and family relationship problems

• Clinical psy. training 3 applicants/place
• Pay starts at 17,000 for newly qualified
• Experienced A grade 27,500 - 36,000
• Consultant 37,000 - 60,000
