What are Proposal

• A proposal is an offer to carry out research or
  to provide product or a service.
• The scope of the proposals determine their
  format. Example A request for funding a small
  amount of money might be conveyed orally, either
  in person or on the phone, or in writing either
  an e-mail or memo.
• Request for a large amount or research will
  require a formal proposal.
• Difference between a report and a proposal A
  report informs the status of any happening or
  event a proposal attempts to move readers to
  action.
• When an organization want to purchase a product
  or service they publish Information for Bid (IFB)
  or Request for Proposal (RPF).
