Title: What Easter Means To Me

1
What Easter Means To Me
2
  • And you, who once were alienated and enemies in
your mind by wicked works, yet now He has
reconciled 22 in the body of His flesh through
death, to present you holy, and blameless, and
above reproach in His sight-- 23 if indeed you
continue in the faith, grounded and steadfast,
and are not moved away from the hope of the
gospel which you heard, which was preached to
every creature under heaven, of which I, Paul,
became a minister. Col 121-23 (NKJV)

3
  • 1. Christ suffering means I can live without
guilt and shame because my sins are forgiven.
  • There is therefore now no condemnation to those
who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk
according to the flesh, but according to the
    Spirit. Romans 81 (NKJV)

4
  • 2. Christ suffering means I can forgive others
    because Jesus has forgiven me.
  • And be kind to one another, tenderhearted,
forgiving one another, just as God in Christ
    forgave you. Eph 432 (NKJV)

5
  • Five reasons we must forgive
  • 1. Jesus modeled forgiveness.
  • Then Jesus said, "Father, forgive them, for they
do not know what they do." And they divided His
garments and cast lots. Luke 2334 (NKJV)

6
  • 2. Jesus taught us to forgive.
  • And forgive us our debts, As we forgive our
    debtors. Matt 612 (NKJV)

7
  • 3. Forgiveness opens the flow of Gods
    forgiveness to us.
  • For if you forgive men their trespasses, your
heavenly Father will also forgive you. 15 But if
you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither
will your Father forgive your trespasses. Matt
    614-15 (NKJV)

8
  • 4. Forgiveness releases our faith.
  • And whenever you stand praying, if you have
anything against anyone, forgive him, that your
Father in heaven may also forgive you your
trespasses. 26 But if you do not forgive, neither
will your Father in heaven forgive your
    trespasses." Mark 1125-26 (NKJV)

9
  • 5. Not forgiving allows the enemy a place in our
    lives.
  •  lest Satan should take advantage of us for we
are not ignorant of his devices. 2 Cor 211 (NKJV)

10
  • There are three types of Forgiveness
  • A. Those who hurt you.
  • B. Those I have hurt
  • C. Myself

11
  • How to forgive others.
  • A. Remember
  • looking carefully lest anyone fall short of the
grace of God lest any root of bitterness
springing up cause trouble, and by this many
    become defiled Heb 1215 (NKJV)

12
  • B. Be honest
  • in Him at all times, you people Pour out your
heart before Him God is a refuge for us. Psalms
    628 (NKJV)

13
  • C. Choose to forgive.
  • If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven
them if you retain the sins of any, they are
    retained." John 2023 (NKJV)

  • Then Jesus said, "Father, forgive them, for they
do not know what they do." And they divided His
garments and cast lots. Luke 2334 (NKJV)

15
  • E. Admit your own sins.
  • If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just
to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all
unrighteousness. 10 If we say that we have not
sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not
in us. 1 John 19-10 (NKJV)

16
  • F. Release God from any blame.
  • The foolishness of a man twists his way, And his
heart frets against the Lord. Prov 193 (NKJV)

17
  • G. Ask God to replace what was lost.
  • But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace,
    longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
23 gentleness, self-control. Against such there
is no law. 24 And those who are Christ's have
crucified the flesh with its passions and
    desires. Gal 522-24 (NKJV)

18
  • H. Renew your mind.
  • And do not be conformed to this world, but be
transformed by the renewing of your mind, that
you may prove what is that good and acceptable
and perfect will of God. Romans 122 (NKJV)

19
  • I. Bless.
  •  But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those
who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and
pray for those who spitefully use you and
    persecute you, Matt 544 (NKJV)

20
  • 3. Christ suffering means that I can persevere
through ant difficulty, because Christ showed the
    way and lives in me.
  • Jesus never gave up and neither should we!

21
  • As you endure this divine discipline, remember
that God is treating you as his own children. Who
ever heard of a child who is never disciplined by
    its father? Heb 127 (NLT)

22
  • Do not fear any of those things which you are
about to suffer. Indeed, the devil is about to
throw some of you into prison, that you may be
tested, and you will have tribulation ten days.
Be faithful until death, and I will give you the
crown of life. Rev 210 (NKJV)

23

God, believe also in Me. 2 In My Father's house
are many mansions if it were not so, I would
have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will
come again and receive you to Myself that where
I am, there you may be also. John 141-3 (NKJV)
