Title: Fancy a cuppa?
1Fancy a cuppa?
APSotW on Yorkshire Tea Andrea Nastase
2Yorkshire Tea
- All the best from Yorkshire sums up its roots
and quality. - Common knowledge that if you want to make the
perfect cuppa, Yorkshire Tea is where its at.
But shh. - Still, most people dont drink it because they
have the feeling its not for them. - Avid drinkers are somehow also fans of DIY and
gardening. (might explain above) - Its drinkers carry a lot of affection for it.
Offering someone a cuppa takes on a significant
meaning. - Thats a great cuppa there, that is.
- Tea that makes you go aww and mmm after
youve had it.
I dont see PG Tips scones recipes around the
place.
(A Proper Tea is much nicer than a Very Nearly
Tea, which is one you forget about afterwards)
3Yorkshire Tea
- People who love Yorkshire tea dont fancy the
taste of herbal or fruit tea, its just not for
them. Why would they give up their beloved tea
anyway? - It makes you think of mum, dad and the
countryside. When was the last time you visited
them anyway? I bet they have so much spare time
they could use it to drink tea all day. - When youre at work you tend to get distracted by
your browsing and forget to have a cuppa to go
with it. - Even though itd be the perfect excuse for a
break. Dyou know what, James? No Im
running out of ideas. Would you like some tea? - Most of them just didnt get into the habit of
reaching for the teapot and brewing a cuppa
(strangely enough)
(I say that the world may go to pot for me so
long as I always get my tea. Did you know that,
or not? I am an egoist...)
4Yorkshire Tea
So why not get people into the habit of brewing a
cuppa and having a nice sit down, whether alone
or with someone? It helps. Life flows
differently after a cup, no matter what youre
doing.
(Tea to the English is really a picnic indoors)
5Yorkshire Tea
Nine tea-bags. That's all I have. Nine. I think
I shall have to resort to filling up my handbag
with the frankly unsatisfactory PG tips from
work. Why can't all tea be Yorkshire gold? And
where do you get those Yorkshire tea tins from? I
love those.
Keyboard feels funny. Eight Teabags left.
(If you are cold, tea will warm you. If you are
too heated, it will cool you. If you are
depressed, it will cheer you. If you are
excited, it will calm you)
6Yorkshire Tea
If you ever felt like something is missing, it
might be tea.
(That's Britain for you. Tea solves everything.
You're a bit cold? Tea. Your boyfriend has just
left you? Tea. You've just been told you've got
cancer? Tea. Coordinated terrorist attack on
the transport network bringing the city to a
grinding halt? Tea dammit!
7Yorkshire Tea
We dont care if you drink it from 40p IKEA mugs
as long as its poured with love.
T is for tea and H is for home.
(Strange how a teapot can represent at the same
time the comforts of solitude and the pleasures
of company.)
8Yorkshire Tea
END NOTES
- Yorkshire Tea as lube for a better flow of
things whether for working, unwinding at home
or conversations. (Dont think naughty things) - Still all the best from Yorkshire but with an
ambivalent meaning. To people now enjoying their
cuppa, we salute you. Or just really good tea
made in Yorkshire. - By encouraging the brewing and enjoyment
process, tea captures emotional meaning to those
who werent quite convinced.
(Find yourself a cup of tea the teapot is behind
you. Now tell me about hundreds of things.)

Miscellanous
- Most images from ffffound and flickr, too many to
credit each but Ive saved most of them. - Quotes from both anonymous sources and other
writings (e.g. Dostoevsky, Saki, A. A. Milne,
etc.) - I have no clue what Im doing.
- I do like Yorkshire Tea but I dont love it,
Im an atypical manic green tea drinker in fact
and not loyal to any brand on the market but I do
appreciate a cuppa anytime. - Thanks for reading!
- (Ive had two cups while writing this)
