Title: We ALL are BLESSED

1
We ALL can sacrifice

2
The Second Temple
  • Then God stirred the hearts of the priests and
Levites and the leaders of the tribes of Judah
and Benjamin to return to Jerusalem to rebuild
the Temple of the LORD. 6And all their neighbors
assisted by giving them vessels of silver and
gold, supplies for the journey, and livestock.
They gave them many choice gifts in addition to
all the freewill offerings. Ezra 15,6 NLT

3
Discouragement
  • 4Then the local residents tried to discourage
and frighten the people of Judah to keep them
from their work. 5They bribed agents to work
against them and to frustrate their aims. This
went on during the entire reign of King Cyrus of
Persia and lasted until King Darius of Persia
took the throne.6Years later when Xerxes began
his reign, the enemies of Judah wrote him a
letter of accusation against the people of Judah
    and Jerusalem. 44-6

4
Prophets
  • At that time the prophets Haggai and Zechariah
son of Iddo prophesied in the name of the God of
Israel to the Jews in Judah and Jerusalem.
2Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel and Jeshua son of
Jehozadak responded by beginning the task of
rebuilding the Temple of God in Jerusalem. And
the prophets of God were with them and helped
    them.

5
  • Why are you living in luxurious houses while my
house lies in ruins? 5This is what the LORD
Almighty says Consider how things are going for
you! 6You have planted much but harvested little.
You have food to eat, but not enough to fill you
up. You have wine to drink, but not enough to
satisfy your thirst. You have clothing to wear,
but not enough to keep you warm. Your wages
disappear as though you were putting them in
pockets filled with holes! Haggai 14-6 NLT

6
  • 9You hoped for rich harvests, but they were
poor. And when you brought your harvest home, I
blew it away. Why? Because my house lies in
ruins, says the LORD Almighty, while you are all
busy building your own fine houses. 10That is why
the heavens have withheld the dew and the earth
has withheld its crops. 11I have called for a
drought on your fields and hillsa drought to
wither the grain and grapes and olives and all
your other crops, a drought to starve both you
and your cattle and to ruin everything you have
worked so hard to get. 19-11

Sacrifice
  • I do not believe one can settle how much we ought
to give. I am afraid the only safe rule is to
give more than we can spare. C.S. Lewis
  • If you give what you do not need, it isn't
    giving. Mother Teresa.

9
  • Do not store up for yourselves treasures on
earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where
thieves break in and steal. 20But store up for
yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and
rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not
break in and steal. 21For where your treasure is,
there your heart will be also. Mt. 619-21 NIV
