Comparison G4/MARS hadronic models
  • There were many comparisons of Geant4 and Mars15
    with target simulations
  • Problem no good agreement amongst different
    hadronic models of Geant4 and Mars.

  • HARP have published one paper with 12.9 GeV/c
    protons on a 5 LI Aluminium target in forward
    direction (ie.30-210 mrad)
  • Developed simulation of HARP target on G4 and
    compared to yields from HARP paper under same
    assumptions
  • Caveat so far have neglected reabsorption in
    target but should be 5

Outlook
  • We have started to compare HARP data to GEANT4
  • So far, all distributions are very preliminary.
    We have not carried out any cross-checks to
    ensure we are doing things identically to HARP
  • Deficit of G4 simulation between 1.5-4 GeV/c
    respect to HARP
  • Some differences in total cross-sections that we
    dont understand
  • Need to compare to MARS simulations as well.
