Our Scientific Objectives

• Characterization of precipitation processes in
  the West African region and adjacent eastern
  Atlantic, with specific focus on the transition
  of convective systems from continental to
  maritime
• The manner in which aerosols, especially dust,
  impact the ice production process and the
  efficiency of cloud precipitation processes
• Validation of Retrievals from CloudSat and
  CALIPSO
