Background Information

• The Internet has revolutionised the computer and
  communications world like nothing before. The
  invention of the telegraph, telephone, radio, and
  computer set the stage for this unprecedented
  integration of capabilities. The Internet is at
  once a world-wide broadcasting capability, a
  mechanism for information dissemination, and a
  medium for collaboration and interaction between
  individuals and their computers without regard
  for geographic location. (1)
• The Internet has only been public for less than a
  decade and therefor its true affects are
  unknown. However, the Internet will, without
  question, have serious implications on the
  Worlwide eductation system.

A few problems...

• False Information on the internet being passed
  off as fact (History, propaganda, facts, etc.)
  English dominates the Internet and therefor other
  languages could fall. Also, a division is created
  between the have and have not regions.

On the Positive Side

• The Internet is a fountain of useful, up to date
  information, news and facts
• The Internet is interactive and much of what is
  learned on the net can be retrieved
• The Internet could prove to be an affective tool
  in the fight against ignorance
