ATLAS Data Challenge and Simulation

• Use grid technology to produce 15 million
  simulated events by June (Rome Meeting)
• HamptonU site used to by both ATLAS and CMS.
• COSM physics staff run shifts to monitor entire
  ATLAS production on the grid. typical 300 jobs
  nationwide)

• Make Grid computing easily accessible to
  non-scientist and non-technical users.
• Work with HamptonU site initially
• Involves two computer science majors.
• A working prototype.
• Efforts to further develop project further.
