• GIS stands for Geographic Information System.

• Remote Sensing is the study of all our
  subjects added together in a more complicated
  system. We mainly study geography and outside
  relates things.

Who uses Remote Sensing?

• The people who use Remote Sensing are mainly
  students, but we do have teachers. Sometimes
  people use it in their everyday world and they
  have no idea what they are doing.

What is the main purpose of GPSs?

• Mainly, GPSs are used to find satellites and
  your way through a place outdoors. It wont be
  exact when you are indoors and sometimes it wont
  even power up. But you can do many different
  things with your GPSs!

What Is Geocaching?

• The sport where YOU are the search engine.
• Geocaching is an entertaining adventure game for
  gps users. Participating in a cache hunt is a
  good way to take advantage of the wonderful
  features and capability of a gps unit. The basic
  idea is to have individuals and organizations set
  up caches all over the world and share the
  locations of these caches on the internet. GPS
  users can then use the location coordinates to
  find the caches. Once found, a cache may provide
  the visitor with a wide variety of rewards. All
  the visitor is asked to do is if they get
  something they should try to leave something for
  the cache.

How do you use a GPS?

• When you first power up your GPS hand held you
  need to tell it roughly (to within around 200
  miles) where it is, what the date is, and what
  time it is. This enables the unit to narrow its
  search for satellites to only those that will be
  visible. Doing this will reduce the lock on time
  by around 15 minutes.
