The Garmin G1000 system is a fully solid-state,
digital, integrated cockpit automation system.
3- The G1000 system is made up of separate but
integrated control devices known as line
replaceable units (LRUs). The system is driven
by updateable software designed specifically for
the aircraft type. - The pilot has three interfaces with the system
The PFD, the MFD, and the Audio Control Panel. - The LRU approach ensures standardization between
aircraft and allows mechanics to make discrete
repairs to complex systems, and the concept
provides redundancy and system modularity, which
allows easy updates and helps make maintenance
easier and quicker.
