4THE FIRST GALLERY YOU ENTER IS THE GROUND FLOOR
ART SPACE, A MEDIUM SIZED ROOM IN A LONG
RECTANGULAR SHAPE, THE SPACE IS HALF THE SIZE OF
THE MAIN BUILDINGS FLOOR SPACE AND IS PERFECT
FOR A GRAND INTRODUCTION TO THE ART WORK WITHIN
THE GALLERY. THIS ART SPACE IS ALSO CONNECTED TO
ARTISTS WORKSHOPS AND AN EDUCATION STUDIO.
5THE FIRST FLOOR ART SPACE INCLUDES A LARGE SQUARE
PERFORMANCE THEATRE SPACE, PERFECT FOR EXHIBITING
TIME BASED MEDIA WORK, THERE IS ALSO A
LECTURE/CINEMA SPACE AND A SMALL CUBE ROOM.
6THE SECOND FLOOR HOUSES AN ART SPACE OF SIMILAR
SIZE TO THE GROUND FLOOR, THIS TIME THE NATURAL
LIGHT PLAYS A MAJOR EFFECT MAKING THE LARGE SIDE
WALLS A PRIME SPACE FOR ART THAT CAN BE
EXHIBITED ON THE FLOOR AND THE WALL SPACES. THIS
SPACE IS ALSO WHERE WE FIND THE MAIN RECEPTION
AREA FOR THE BALTIC OFFICES, THE LIBRARY, ARCHIVE
AND PRINTING FACILITIES.
7THE THIRD FLOOR SPACE IS A LARGE EXHIBITING AREA,
MAKING GREAT USE OF THE SPACE CREATED BY THE
POWERFULLY SIZED BUILDING. BALTIC CAN EXHIBIT
SENSITIVE ARTWORKS DUE TO THE CONTROLLED
CONDITIONS OF A SPACE WITH NO NATURAL LIGHT, IT
CAN BE USED AS AN OPEN AREA OR TEMPORARY WALLS
CAN BE ADDED.
8THE FOURTH FLOOR ART SPACE REACHES TO THE SKY
LIGHTS 8M ABOVE WHERE NATURAL LIGHT POURS INTO
THE LARGEST EXHIBITING AREA IN THE GALLERY, IT IS
SO VAST IT CAN HOLD 100 DOUBLE DECKER BUSES.
TEMPORARY WALLS CAN AGAIN BE BUILT INTO THIS
SPACE TO ALLOW FOR FLEXIBLE EXHIBITION DESIGN.
THIS SPACE HAS THE ADDED BENEFIT OF THE GLASS
VIEWING BOX, LOOKING OUT OVER THE QUAYSIDE, AS
WELL AS THE ART SPACE.
