• Four groups met to discuss
• What is important about building an European
  architecture from your experience? What are the
  key issues and questions for you?

GROUP 1 (Francophone)

• Legitimacy of key actors. Who will legitimate
  what in which countries?
• We need to know each other before working
  together.
• Tension between accrediting experience and
  knowledge.
• Norms must not be restrictive.
• Recognise a range of different tools.
• Since it is voluntary, it should come from the
  individual motivation.
• Risk of creating hierarchies based in different
  forms of assessment.

GROUP 2

• There is a need for a clear consensus.
• Different people wants accreditation for
  different reasons.
• Define learning in terms of outcomes.
• Benchmarks.
• Important to give flexibility to the system for
  accreditation of learning.
• Knowledge v Skills.

GROUP 3

• How can we bring together accreditation of
  non-formal and informal learning with a credit
  based system of training?
• Is accreditation the same as a credit system or
  is it something else?
• Do we need credit? If so, what do we want it for?

GROUP 4

• Where do we start? By developing a common
  language? By creating a system of exchange? By
  building a grand architecture?
• Can we start with the individual? If so, where
  are other players? Should it be a diamond shape?
• Some countries already have a system. Others not.
  Do we need a European system?
• Need to promote quality in self assesment.
