4Eligibility
Community Involvement Unit
Eligibility checks will look at whether an
applicant
- Is based in Newham and benefiting Newham
residents - Has fully completed application form
- Is formally constituted and has a management
committee - Has provided a copy of their constitution
- Has provided contact details, including telephone
numbers, of all management committee members.

Eligibility checks will look at whether an
applicant
- Appears to have financial systems in place to
administer a grant - Has provided an up-to-date financial record of
income, expenditure and assets. - Has provided evidence of a Child Protection
Policy / Vulnerable Adult Policy if working with
children or vulnerable people - Has demonstrated a commitment to equalities,
diversity and human rights in their application
form. - Is seeking one-off and time-limited funding
- Has proposed a project or activity that runs for
no more than 12 months.
6Assessment
Community Involvement Unit
An independent Grants Panel, made up of health
professionals and representatives from Newhams
third sector, will assess the quality of each
application.
- Panel members will judge whether a proposal
- Addresses locally-identified needs in relation to
better health and wellbeing. - Contributes to better understanding of local
health and wellbeing needs - Supports the Primary Care Trust to achieve its
strategic priorities. - Represents value for money
- Shows that thought has been given to successfully
delivering its outputs and outcomes.
7Decision-making
Community Involvement Unit
Decisions are NOT made by Aston-Mansfield. The
grants panel will meet to discuss the
applications they have assessed and then decide
on those that they feel deserve funding. Their
decisions are then passed to the HIPP steering
group for approval
