  • 1. We each have an essential inner nature ---
    instinctoid, intrinsic, given, inner core.
  • 2. Potentialities with a life history.
  • 3. Inner core is biologically based and is weak
    rather than strong.
  • Easily overcome.
  • Hard to know, rather than easy.
  • 4. Some characteristics are species wide.
  • 5. Inner nature can be studied scientifically and
    objectively.

  • 6. Aspects of inner nature can be actively
    repressed or forgotten.
  • 7. Inner nature rarely dies.
  • Will to health --- urge to grow --- pressure to
    self-actualization --- quest for identity.
  • 8. Life is a continual series of choices.
  • 9. Frustrated inner core leads to sickness.
