2Use the Insert Table dialog box to indicate the
number of rows and columns in a table
Or use the Insert Table button on the Standard
toolbar to create a table

a bit difficult, since the row/column indicators
are not visible. It doesn't auto-update if the

formula support in Word is rudimentary for more
complex work, it is better to work in Excel and
import these tables to Word.
7Adding Rows/ColumnsCursor to arrow beside
row/over column right-click and choose insert
row/column. Will insert a row above or column to
left
Better click on a cell in table and use table
drop-down to insert a row or column above or
below, to right or left.
Resize row or column click and drag when get
double arrowhead

split/merge, etc

than 1 cell selected, would have merge option.

13- Note added as an in-line image acts like a
large letter - cut-and-paste to move, not drag-and-drop
- press enter a couple of times after it to
separate from text - use paragraph positioning (left, right, centre)

Note sizing handles dark square means its
acting like a large letter open circles mean
its an object that can be dragged
15Clear these to stop picture moving with text (ie
orient to page, not text), or to anchor text to
a paragraph (ie if paragraph moves or text is
added, picture will move with original
paragraph)

- Click and drag sizing handles to resize picture
- corners resize in proportion
- sides distort horizontally or vertically

- change sizing handles click and drag to
crop/hide parts of picture - hidden parts of picture are not lost, just not
displayed - re-size to recover
- Office 2003 can reduce image to cropped size
- Shrinks file size

- Reduce resolution
- Web 96 dpi
- Print 200 dpi
- Compress pictures in file
- Slows display of document
- Delete cropped areas
- Normally retained, but not shown

Top-and-Bottom
Tight, both sides
Square, right side
19Locking an AnchorEnsuring picture stays with
correct paragraph, regardless of added text
This allows you to see the anchor, so you can
drag it to the correct paragraph
20Creating a LetterHead
- Select image (inline) and address text below it
- Under insert, select text box
- Move text box to top of page
- Change wrap to top-and-bottom
- So page text will be under, rather than beside
letterhead - Un-check move object with text
- So box stays positioned to page, not text
- Format contents and box properties as desired

- Just place your letterhead on the page
- Not in the header
- This will cause it to repeat on every page
- Letterheads only on the first page of a document
