Why do we need an European portal for waste
management?
- Numerous data and information sources in the
waste management sector are available on
European, national, regional and municipal level - The data and information sources are
heterogeneous concerning format, content and
structure (data bases, documents, web sites...)
- the different level of information complicate
their efficient use - Lack of flexible network infrastructure to
bundle the sources of information - the data
cannot be used effectively - Fast demand for international and national data
and information on all aspects of waste
management
