Admissions 2010

• The Governors set an Entrance Exam
• It consists of 2 NFER Verbal Reasoning Tests
• Tests will be held at Upton on Friday . .
  27 November
• Tests are marked by NFER
• Candidates who score 236 and above .
  will be considered for admission

Admissions Criteria
Those girls who have scored 236 andabove in the
following order

• Baptised Catholics
• Those whose parents wish them to be
  admitted

Oversubscription
If more than 135 girls reach the required
standard

• Places will be allocated in each category in
  order of merit with the highest score first
• If there are several candidates with equal
  marks at the 135th place priority will be given
  to the girl who lives nearest the school

Role of the LA
They co-ordinate admissions

• They ask schools who they will admit
• If a child is eligible for admission to . .
  more than one school they consult . . . the
  preference form and allocate . . . . .
  according to that list
• If your daughter is not offered a place . at

• Independent Appeals will be heard in May 2010

The Good News

• Last year nearly every girl who scored 236 or
  above and placed us first on the preference
  form was offered a place
• By placing us first no-one compromised their
  other choices
• All Catholic children who place a Catholic
  School first and second on the LA form will be
  allocated a place in a Catholic School
