Academic Clubs
  • Academic clubs receive 5 points automatically
  • What does an academic club do?
  • Increases student understanding or awareness of a
    major
  • Develops activities which are focused on the
    academic support of the students within the major
  • Broadens the perspective of a major through
    educational trips, meetings, movies, and lectures
  • Creates enthusiasm towards a major
  • Encourages students to pursue careers within the
    field of choice
  • Provides academic support for students

  • Points based on level of activity (Per budget
    year)
  • 1-2 fundraisers 1 points
  • 3-4 fundraisers 2 points
  • 5-6 fundraisers 3 points
  • 7-8 fundraisers 4 points

Possible Allocations
  • Clubs will receive funding based on the total
    points earned during an academic year Listed is
    the maximum amount of dollars a club could earn.
    Funding limitations could prevent some clubs from
    earning the maximum.
  • 26-35 points max. 1500
  • 21-25 points max. 1250
  • 16-20 points max. 1000
  • 11-15 points max. 750
  • 6-10 points max. 500
  • 0-5 points max. 250

Ending Balance Cap
  • The most any club can have at the end of the
    Spring Semester is 4000
  • Clubs can submit an appeal to the Senate
    requesting a carry over of funds in excess of the
    cap. Appeals must be approved by the Senate
    before the end of the spring semester.
  • Funds in excess of the cap will be transferred to
    the endowment/scholarship or award of the student
    clubs choice. If no endowment is selected, funds
    in excess of the cap will be transferred to the
    Senate account.
