Lectures

• Comments
• Lecture is a little fast. Some aspects of theory
  under-explained
• Too many concepts coming very fast
• Little faster pace would not hurt
• Responses
• Lecture schedule unfortunately rigorous
• Can substitute one lecture for a catch-up day
• Review concepts and answer questions

• Ask more questions / ask for more questions
• Examples in lecture much simpler than labs
• Responses
• Will stop more often and ask for questions
• Students need to respond!
• Time unfortunately does not permit detailed
  examples
• Also labs are intended to be tougher for learning
  value

Labs

• Comments
• More time needed on labs
• More correlation between labs and lecture
• Labs are difficult to begin but then about ok
• Same person said homeworks were too short
• Responses
• Unfortunately we are at the limit in terms of
  labs.
• More time is hard without assigning labs over
  holidays
• Need clarification on the correlation comment
• TAs are available the Tuesday after lab is
  assigned for help
• Plus some guidance is given in class

Labs / Assignments

• Comments
• Manage time effectively between students in lab
• Combine short problems and long problems
• No TA after Wednesday
• Responses
• We will try to be better with this
• Help us out by asking one question at a time
• This is hard especially when the material gets
  more complex
• Will talk to Tom about additional hours
• Will post hours on class website

• Comments
• Textbook is not good for beginners
• Comments preferred on HW rather than a separate
  solution
• Should not test material not in HW
• Less memory problems on HW
• Responses
• Not much can be done about the textbook
• Can point you to some online resources (if
  helpful)
• Very hard to put comments in every homework
• Currently takes 25 minutes to grade a lab and it
  will get worse
• This is hard because labs are assigned for a two
  week period
• Will try to minimize for final
• There is a balance between memory and
  understanding
• However there is some stuff that you should know
  without making an effort to memorize
