Records.
Student Demographics is the first subheading
under Records You can find general information,
and testing data
5
This is the Student/Family tab. Lets look at
Records.
Family Demographics is the second subheading
under Records. You probably wont use this
section much.
6
  • Enrollment is the third subheading under
    Records
  • This is where you will
  • Add students that are available in the district
  • Drop students from classes
  • Drop students from the school
  • You will not delete students under any
    circumstances

7
Class Schedule is the last subheading under
Records It will show dropped classes for a
specific student
8
This is the Setup tab. This is where you can
change settings.
You can set which tab you want Galileo to open
when you login. As you can see, this one is set
to open to the Student/Family Tab
9
This is the Assessment tab. This is the Testing
tab.
This is where you will schedule your schools
tests. If you are only doing paper pencil
tests, you may use Bulk Scheduling. You will
not use Test Planning or Construction much.
10
This is the Curriculum tab. Here you will find
the Calendar.
This will show you all the tests you have
scheduled.
11
This is the Reports tab. There are very many
reports.
12
This is the Site Map. It shows all the areas at a
glance.
13
Adding a New Student Before you add a new
student, make sure that they are completely new.
We have many students who leave the area and come
back to a different school. They might even use a
variation of their name to reenter the district.
The best thing you can do is check their
Enrollment History in SASI to see if they ever
attended a school in the district previously. If
they have, they might already be in the system.
14
Adding a New Student If you are fairly certain
the student is new, click on add a new student.
You will need the student SAIS number. If a
student doesnt have a SAIS number yet, simply
wait the day or two it takes to get one. If when
you finish typing in the information you get a
message that says this student is already in the
system, check the information carefully. If the
birthdates match, it is probably the same
student. If the birthdate and gender is way off,
that number might be used elsewhere. Put a
lowercase x after the number and then save.
15
  • Adding a New Student
  • This is not the end of the procedure. You must
now give the student a password.
  • Go to the Setup tab
  • Under User Accounts choose Student /Family
    Accounts
  • Choose the student you just added and assign a
    password Save

Your student is now enrolled in a specific class
within a specific school and can be scheduled.
You can check to make sure the new student was
added by clicking on View Student User Accounts.
Scroll down until you find the student you added.
16
  • Dropping a Student
  • Students often get moved from class to class and
    even from school to school.
  • Go to the class from which the student will be
dropped. If he/she is just moving to another
class, click on Drop from Class and then Save
    Changes.
  • If he/she is leaving the school, click on Drop
    from School and Save Changes.

17
Moving a Student If you receive a student from
another school in the district, hopefully he/she
will have been dropped from the previous school.
If not, you will need to ask that school's NCLB
tech to drop him/her as shown in the previous
slide or ask us to do it.
18
Scheduling Tests found under the Assessment tab.
You cannot print out answer sheets unless the
test is scheduled. You will first choose the
correct Library (Year) and Test (Grade level,
Math or Reading) Then you will select your
school, grade level and whatever is necessary.
You will probably only see your school because
you only have rights to that school.
19
Printing Answer Sheets You will go back to the
Assessment tab and choose Print Test
Materials. You must make sure you choose the
correct Library. This is the year of the test.
Then make sure you are choosing the correct grade
and type of test (Math or Reading) If your school
has multi-level classrooms, you must choose only
the students who will be taking the specific
grade test. You will have to do this for each
grade level and for each type of test. Make sure
your teachers/students know how important it is
not to add any extraneous markings to the answer
sheet or they will not be able to be scanned.
Then you will have to have the student redo the
exam.
20
Printing Class Roster You will go back to the
Setup tab and choose Student/Family Accounts
under User Accounts. Make sure you have the
correct teacher and school chosen. Click on the
link that looks like this
You will get a screen that looks like this
showing the students Usernames and Passwords.
This is really only needed if students will be
taking the test online.
21
Printing Class Rosters w/o Passwords You will go
back to the Student/Family tab. Look for the
Options box. Make sure you have the correct
teacher and school chosen. Click on the Options
link that says Class Roster.
You may Save this to your computer or merely Open
the file and Print it.
22
Scanning Answer Sheets Under any tab you will see
Tech Support on the far right side of the screen
in the gradient. Click on Tech Support. Download,
Save and read Scanning Completed Offline Tests.
