Psalm 1274-5

• As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man so are
  children of the youth. Happy is the man that hath
  his quiver full of them they shall not be
  ashamed, but they shall speak with the enemies in
  the gate.
• Children are like arrows
• Fashioned by man from the raw materials God has
  provided Psalm 1273
• End result should bring happiness 1284-6

Need External Aids

• Father is the Mighty man (warrior)
• Without his strength and experience the
  arrow would be useless Eph. 64
• Mother is like the string and bow
• She submits to the will of the archer
• She finds her purpose in the relationship she
  has with her children Titus 23-5

Aimed at a Target

• Some parents provide no direction for their
  children (Prov. 2915)
• Arrows fly beyond the archer
• Legacy into next generation Gen. 1819
• Want our children to be better than ourselves
• The time will come when the child must be
  released (Prov. 226)

Potential for Good or Evil

• Full quiver reveals great potential
• health of young couple, provision for aged
• arrows produce respect from the enemies
• Hurt when the arrows go awry
