7Exploration Tennyson Main Gossan
The Tennyson was discovered in 1984 after
meltback of local glaciers exposed a prominent
gossan (area marked by pervasive red-brown colour
due to oxidation of minerals). The western part
of the present-day property was incorporated in
2006 to include two additional gossans, also
exposed by retreating ice. The property includes
several areas of mineralization, the most
important being the North Porphyry Target (Cu-Au)
and Skarn Zone (Au). Tennyson gossan (Camp Zone
Au, Ag, Pb, Zn) includes volcaniclastic and
sedimentary rocks of the lower part of the
Jurassic Hazelton Group, which show a diversified
pattern of alteration (including propylitic,
argillic and phyllic) associated locally with
strong pyritization.

9Geology Stratigraphy
The Tennyson property is located ca. 40 km NNE of
Stewart, BC. The area is underlain by suites of
volcanic and associated sedimentary rocks of the
Mesozoic Stuhini and Hazelton Groups. The layered
rocks are intruded by several plugs of granitoid
to dioritic rocks of Mesozoic and Cenozoic age.
The area hosts several broad zones of
sericite-clay alteration which are accompanied by
bulk tonnage Au-Cu mineralization zones.

Porphyry Target
Original Tennyson claims are underlain by a
succession of flows, volcaniclastics and
fine-grained sediments which show evidence of a
weak regional metamorphism (greenschist zone).
These rocks are bound eastwards, along a steep
NW-SE trending fault, to unaltered volcanic
breccias and flows. Rocks display variable
alteration including propylitic, argilic and
sericitic, with minor zones of silicification and
localized skarns. Low-grade Au-Cu mineralization
is associated with disseminated pyrite and minor
chalcopyrite while higher-grade Au-Ag
mineralization appears in association with pyrite
bands and veins as well as quartz veins.
