What is a TL-46 BIOS / POST card ?

• Debug card thru POST code indication.
• Alternative BIOS to startup.

When do we use a TL-46 ?
- When a motherboard doesnt startup.

• To identify the problem (thru the POST code).
• To startup the MB with a functioning BIOS (eg.
  when the BIOS update went wrong).

Why do we need a TL-46 ?

• To have a quick fault diagnosis.
• To repair failed BIOS updates, especially when
  the BIOS chip is soldered on the MB.

How does it work ?

• The BIOS on the TL-46 has to be programmed with
  the correct version of the binary.
• Place the TL-46 on the MB.
• Read the POST-code from the display and look for
  it in the appropriate tabel (AMI, Award/Phoenix).
• Try to solve the problem if possible.
• If nothing works try to startup with the BIOS on
  the TL-46.
• If the MB starts with the BIOS on the TL-46.
  Flash the BIOS on the MB with the correct
  version.
• Remove the TP-46 and start the MB.

What do you need ?
- Fault diagnosis

• TL-46 card.
• POST code tabels.

- Bios reflash

• TL-46 card.
• Extra bios chips for the TL-46.
• DOS boot disk
• MSIFLASH.COM, to switch between the bios on the
  MB and the TL-46.
• Normal BIOS update software
