Restringing Your Guitar

Strip The Old Strings

• First things first when replacing strings, get
  rid of the old ones!
• Simply twist the heads until the string can be
  pulled out of the winding part.
• Then push the string through the holes at the
  bottom and dispose of it.

Hooking at the Base

• Next you will need to feed your string though the
  holes at the base of your guitar so that they
  hook and can be pulled tight.
• Look at the picture-
• See how the string is pulled so that the metal
  ball cant be pulled through.

Proper Tension and Winding

• Tension is determined by the tone of the string
  so that can wait.
• Proper winding is important to keep the guitar in
  tune.
• Make sure it wraps around the post about three
  times when tightening this does not mean tighten
  it ridiculously tight to make sure it goes around
  three times.

Tuning Standard E

• Tuning is a fairly simple process.
• For Standard tuning the strings in order from top
  to bottom will be these notes when strum.
• E (note this string is closest to your chin)
• A
• D
• G
• B
• E

Tuning Tools

• First there is Electonic Tuners (top right) all
  you need to do is set it to standard and strum
  each string and it will tell you if its flat or
  sharp.
• Then there is the old fashioned tuning fork. Its
  a perfect A note aka your second string down
  and the rest can be tuned of that one string.

Tuning Continued

• Once that A is tuned when you strum the top
  string it should match the note of the A string
  when it is pushed down on the seventh threat. The
  next string down when pushed on the seventh
  threat will also produce the A tone. So on
  until the 5th sting B, this one you need to
  push the eighth threat to get the same sound then
  back to the seventh threat on the 6th E string.
