• Nasa's Genesis, launched in august of 2001,
  gathered solar wind samples.

• A solar wind is a river of high speeding
  particals that are coming from the sun.

• When genesis re-entered the atmosphere, it was
  supposed to be captured by a helicopter above
  Dugway, Utahs mud flats. The canister weighed
  420 pounds. People at Hill Air Force Base, 100
  miles away, directed it.

• Falling stars are small bodies that enter the
  earths atmosphere as they are traveling from
  space. They are usually called Meteors. They can
  crash into the earth from ten to 70 Kilometers a
  second!

• In 1908, a meteor crashed into Siberia. No crater
  was made but, trees were flattened and damage was
  recorded 60 kilometers away.

• Usually when the meteor reaches the earths
  atmosphere it begins to burn up and becomes what
  we call a falling star.

• If a meteor or falling star lands on the earth,
  it is called a Meteorite. It can be very deadly
  if a meteor hits the ground if it is around
  public places and houses.

• Meteorites are mostly composed of rock, dust,
  iron, stony iron, and chondrite. Many of the
  materials in a meteorite is the same as in the
  earths mantle and crust.
