  • This workshop will address the competencies
  • for the following core TAA04 unit
  • TAAENV401B Work effectively in vocational

  • Completion of a practical assessment task which
    will be fully explained by your facilitator

OVERVIEW
This workshop will cover the structure and
application of vocational training and the
structures that support it.

TRAINING
  • Vocational education and training (VET) can be
  • described as any form of activity and experience
  • leading to understandings or skills relevant to
  • work and that can be measured according to
  • industry and work based standards.

CONSIDERATIONS
  • Training and assessment processes must take
  • into consideration that fact that
  • individual learner needs must be catered for
  • learners must be protected from moral and
    physical danger
  • the training environment must be
    non-discriminatory and harassment free
  • learners must receive appropriate training and
    instruction in occupational health and safety

POLICIES
  • The Australian National Training Authority
  • ANTA - is an Australian Government statutory
  • authority providing a national and industry-led
  • focus for VET
  • From 1 July 2005, the responsibilities and
  • functions of ANTA are the responsibility of the
  • Department of Education, Science and Training
  • (DEST)

PACKAGES
  • Training Packages are developed by industry
    through National Industry Skills Councils or by
    enterprises to meet the identified training needs
    of specific industries or industry sectors. To
    gain national endorsement, developers must
    provide evidence of extensive consultation and
    support within the industry area or enterprise

  • (AQTF) comprises two sets of nationally agreed

  • course accrediting bodies

  • The AQF is a single, coherent framework for

  • through to Doctoral Degrees

  • lifelong learning and a seamless and diverse
  • education and training system

  • User Choice aims to increase the relevance and

  • make choices about the delivery methods and the
  • institution or organisation that can deliver the
  • training

NEW APPRENTICESHIPS
New Apprenticeships provide real benefits to
employers by producing a more productive worker
familiar with the needs of business and trained
for a specific industry New Apprenticeships is
a term that covers all apprenticeships and
traineeships and provides for on the job training
of workers

FUNDING
  • New Apprenticeships attract both
  • Commonwealth and State and Territory
  • financial assistance for eligible employers, to
  • help reduce the cost of training
  • NACs will provide application and claim forms
  • plus assistance in lodging claims and follow-up
  • claims as and when they become due

NRS
Language, literacy and numeracy (LLN)
development in adults is a complex matter and is
an issue that needs to be addressed in the
development of industry based training packages
The National Reporting System (NRS) is a
nationally recognised mechanism for reporting
outcomes of adult English language, literacy and
numeracy programmes
