WHAT IS AN INTERACTIVE WHITEBOARD?
  • An interactive whiteboard is a large display
board that connects to a computer and projector.
  • the interactive whiteboard allows both students
and teachers to grasp a broader insight into
education and learning, through different mediums
    of presentation.

4
BENEFITS OF USING THE INTERACTIVE WHITEBOARD
  • Combined with other learning simulations, the
    Interactive Whiteboard caters for differentiating
    the curriculum.
  • The Interactive Whiteboard acts as a time saving
device for teachers, therefore allowing broader
knowledge and learning to be grasped by students.

5
BENEFITS OF USING THE INTERACTIVE WHITEBOARD
  • Students with special needs also benefit from
this style of learning as, the interactive
whiteboard meets the needs of both visual and
    kinaesthetic learners.
  • Allows the student to be centred in their
learning and focus and provides a visual and
    theoretical explanation of concepts
  • The Interactive Whiteboard allows students to be
involved in a virtual journey, in which they
learn how to communicate, co-operate and be
    engaged within the lesson.
  • Students benefit from the repetition as it helps
to improve their motivation and performance, by
    making inquiry based learning.

LEADING FORMS OF INTERACTIVE WHITEBOARD
TECHNOLOGY
RESISTIVE- composed of two flexible sheets coated
with resistive material, therefore allowing
contact to register the precise location of the
touch. ELECTROMAGNETIC- there are magnetic
sensors in the board that react and send a
message back to the computer when activated by a
magnetic pen. They may accommodate pressure
sensing and multiple users touching and pointing
on the surface.
7
Positive Effects of Visual Presentation
  • The visual images that the presentation of
interactive whiteboards provide are essential in
    creating a productive environment.
  • The interactive whiteboard can allow students to
become more involved within the class, through
    quizzes or surveys.
  • The presentation also increase a positive
    relationship between teacher and students,
through engaging both in the process of the
    students learning.
