- 400 pupils largest single special school in
country.

An overarching trust to value, develop and extend
the schools proud tradition, ensuring that its
direction and development carry forward in
partnership with and focussed on the needs of
its community.
5The Selly Oak vision would
- Advance the education of the pupils at Selly Oak
School. - Extend its range of operations to support more
fully our community of former students and
parents of its students. - Advocate for students with SEN and for excellent
SEN provision particularly Special Schools. - Have Incorporated Charitable status enabling
increased fund raising - Offer even greater support to its many
communities of schools

The Selly Oak Charitable Trust was formed in
September 2007 The Midlands Co-op was invited to
join the governing body of the school and the
Trust Board

The charitable aims were To relieve the needs
of and advance the education of persons with SEN
in particular but not exclusively by The
provision of advice counselling or
support Assisting in the provision of
facilities Educating the public about the needs
of persons with special educational needs To
provide or assist in the provision of facilities
in the interest of social welfare for recreation
or other leisure time occupation of individuals
who have need of such facilities by reason of
their youth, age, infirmity or disability,
financial hardship or social circumstances with
the object of improving their condition of life
