Importance of Cultivating Spiritual Hunger

• Matthew 44, Man shall not live by bread alone,
  but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of
  God.
• Matthew 56, Blessed are they which do hunger
  and thirst after righteousness for they shall be
  filled.

Importance of Cultivating Spiritual Hunger

• 1 Peter 22, as newborn babes, desire the pure
  milk of the word, that you may grow thereby
• Hebrews 513-14, For everyone who partakes only
  of milk is unskilled in the word of
  righteousness, for he is a babe. But solid food
  belongs to those who are of full age, that is,
  those who by reason of use have their senses
  exercised to discern both good and evil.

How Do We Cultivate Spiritual Hunger?

• By seeking God with our ALL
• Jeremiah 2913, you will seek Me and find Me,
  when you search for Me with all your heart.
• Mark 1230, you shall love the Lord your God
  with all your heart, with all your soul, with all
  your mind, and with all your strength. This is
  the first commandment.

• By keeping his commandments
• 1st John 23, we know that we know Him, if we
  keep His commandments.
• Ecclesiastes . 1213-14, Fear God and keep
  His commandments, For this is mans all. For God
  will bring every work into judgment, Including
  every secret thing, Whether good or evil.

• By studying Gods word
• 2nd Tim. 316-17, All scripture is given by
  inspiration of God, and is profitable for
  doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for
  instruction in righteousness That the man of God
  may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good
  works.
• By assembling with the Saints
• Heb. 1025, Not forsaking the assembling of
  ourselves together, as the manner of some is but
  exhorting one another and so much the more, as
  ye see the day approaching.

  God

• Feet shod with the gospel of peace
• Shield of faith to quench all the fiery darts of

• 1st Thessalonians 516-19, Rejoice always, pray
  without ceasing, in everything give thanks for
  this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.
  Do not quench the Spirit. Do not despise
  prophecies. Test all things hold fast what is
  good. Abstain from every form of evil.
• 2nd Peter 15-8, giving all diligence, add to
  your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge, to
  knowledge self-control, to self-control
  perseverance, to perseverance godliness, to
  godliness brotherly kindness, and to brotherly
  kindness love.

• Psalm 421-3, As the deer pants for the water
  brooks, So pants my soul for You, O God. My soul
  thirsts for God, for the living God. When shall I
  come and appear before God? My tears have been my
  food day and night, While they continually say to
  me, Where is your God? When I remember these
  things, I pour out my soul within me.

Early Saints Cultivated Their Spiritual
Hunger

• Acts 242-47, And they continued steadfastly in
  the apostles doctrine and fellowship, in the
  breaking of bread, and in prayers. Then fear came
  upon every soul, Now all who believed were
  together, and had all things in common,
  continuing daily with one accord in the temple,
  and breaking bread from house to house, they ate
  their food with gladness and simplicity of heart,
  praising God and having favor with all the
  people. And the Lord added to the church daily
  those who were being saved.
