• The area of Saharna Monastery is considered
• to be saint. They say that a monk from the
• monastery once saw the shining figure of Saint
• Maria on the top of a rock. When reaching that
• spot the monk saw a mark of a footstep on the
• ground.

Fortress Soroca

• The fortress used to be part of a huge Moldovan
• defensive system, which comprised four fortresses
  on
• the Nistru river. Soroca's Fortress is the only
  medieval
• monument in Moldova, which has been preserved
• entirely as it was designed.
