Trends in Education
  • Years ago, one teacher would teach many grades in
    a one-room school, students walked to school, and
    went home for lunch.
  • Later grades were split into different rooms with
    a teacher for each room, transportation, food,
    and health care professionals provided.
  • What jobs were created by this?
  • Teachers, aides, counselors, school nurse,
    administrators, secretaries, architects,
    construction and maintenance workers, bus
    drivers, cafeteria workers, etc.

    someone has to set up the technology at schools.

    society, markets, or regulations.
  • Emerging occupations may also be existing
    occupations that have been substantially modified
    by the same changes, and are increasing in
    employment.
