Main constraints assessed through AFRICAGIS - SIIE
  • Difficult access to data and information
    (administration, personal, techniques )
  • Poor quality quantity of data and lack of
    information,
  • No standard and no format for coordination
  • Information needs are not met
  • Digital Divide (trained staff, lack of equipment,
    poor access to the Internet)

Framework
  • Create a framework that
  • improves access to and exchange of information
  • facilitates coordination and synergy of national
    and sub regional efforts
  • offers services to help the Parties of CCD, CBD,
    FCC, RAMSAR to comply with their (national
    communication, report, Action Plan.)
  • allows liaising partners and stakeholders from
    different administrations, programmes
  • recognizes developing countries know how, and
    experiences

  • A sustainable system of circulation and exchange
    of information related to environmental managment
    composed of
  • 1. An institutional component based on
    participatory approach and partneship
  • 2. A technical component including IT equipment,
    connection and training
