The T-piece

• A T-piece can be used to divide or split the
  airflow.
• This can be used to operate two cylinders from a
  single valve.

• The T-piece can be thought of as a mini manifold.
• On circuit diagrams the T-piece is represented by
  a dot.

1. A delivery lorry uses a pneumatic braking
system. The brakes operate when the driver
presses the foot brake. Two single-acting
cylinders should outstroke at the same time
activating the brakes.

• Build and test the circuit shown (use a push
  button to simulate the foot brake).

• Describe how the system operates.
• Explain the purpose of the T-piece.

2. Four single acting cylinders are used to clamp
large nameplates to a table to allow them to be
engraved. All four cylinders must operate at the
same time.
