PLANNING APPLICATION
SUBMIT APPLICATION Application submitted to
Council Planning Services, to include 4 Copies
of forms, drawings, photos, certificates, etc. 4
copies of any other supporting material Appropriat
e fee Send relevant notices.
ACKNOWLEDGE Council acknowledge receipt.
CORRECT You may be asked to Supply further
information Pay the correct fee Advertise the
application on site or in the press.
1 MAKE AN APPLICATION
RECORD Application is recorded in statutory
register and is available for inspection by the
public at the Councils Planning Services office.
CONSULT Notice of application to be sent
to Neighbouring owners and occupiers, national
amenity societies, neighbouring councils, various
official bodies and sometimes the Office of the
Deputy Prime Minister.
PUBLICISE All applications are advertised weekly
in the local press. List of applications sent to
consultation bodies. Applications advertised on
site.
2 CONSULT
8 WEEK STATUTORY PERIOD
EXAMINE Applications examined by the Councils
officers, in relation to policies in the Local
Development Framework and associated
Plans/Guidance. Including factors such as
daylighting, trees, density, overlooking, design,
late night disturbance, etc.
3 OFFICERS APPRAISE
AMEND You may be asked to amend your proposals to
overcome any objections raised.
DELEGATE Council officers determine some minor
applications under delegated powers
PLANNING COMMITTEE The Planning Committee
consider application, possibly hearing comments
from applicants and objectors.
AMEND The Committee may advise you to amend your
proposal.
4 DECISION
REFUSE
APPROVE Permission is granted (subject to
conditions).
APPEAL
