3COLD PLATE
The Cold Plate is located on the floor of the Ice
Bin. The ice that lays on top is used for
dispensing, but it also acts as the cooling agent
to chill the water, brand syrups and soda water
prior to dispensing.

7ICE BRIDGING
Ice Bridging
In
Out
As the ice that is cooling the water and syrups
melts, there is a tendency to create a hollow
cavity in the ice just above the cold plate. This
condition is referred to as Ice Bridging. The
efficiency of the cooling is greatly reduced for
the ice is no longer in contact with the cold
plate.
8ICE BRIDGING
An agitator bar inside the ice bin rotates to
break up the Ice Bridging and assures that the
cold plate is covered with ice.
9ICE AGITATION
Agitator bars break up the bridging each time the
wheel carries ice up to ice chute for
dispensing. Plus there is also periodic agitation
when ice the dispensing is idle.
Periodic agitation times are
2 sec every 90 mins - Cubed
4 sec every 150 mins - Pellett

Controlling the ice level within the bin is
important to the cooling process . Too low a
level could cause run outs, too much can effect
the efficiency of the agitation.
