7Eligibility
8Qualified professionals and parents look at the
childs evaluation results. They decide if the
child is a child with a disability as defined
by IDEA. Parents may ask for a hearing to
challenge the eligibility decision.
9IEP Meeting Scheduled
- Letter of Invitation
- Contact participants
- Schedule the meeting.
- Parents may invite people to the meeting.
10IEP Meeting Held
- Discussion of childs needs
- IEP written
- Parents receive a copy of IEP.
- Parental consent
11Speech/Language Services Are Provided
- Short term objectives are implemented by the
clinician. - Dynamic assessment is on-going.
12Progress Reports
- Progress toward annual goals are measured as
stated in the IEP. - A Progress Report is sent to parents every nine
weeks.
13IEP Is Reviewed
ONCE A YEAR!
14Looking Again
- A child is re-evaluated at least every 3 years.
- Does the child continue to be eligible for
services? - What are the childs educational needs?
