Trip To
Bret Terri had to wait 7 months to take their
first (non-working) vacation of the year. The
first half of this 2nd trip to Hawaii was on the
northern most (and most beautiful) island of
Kauai. We met up with our friend John Boyles who
secured a fantastic (and cheap) place for us to
stay for a week. With his group, we toured the
Na Pali Coast, the Grand Canyon of the Pacific,
wonderful gardens, resorts, and beaches.
Afterwards, we headed over to the Big Island to
visit my Mother, Mary, and see the Volcanoes
National Park, the exclusive resorts, and just
visit.

After a few days on Oahu, Terri and Bret headed
for a weeks stay on Hawaiis most beautiful
island Kauai.

Meet the friends! We started off the Kauai trip
when we met up with four other friends of Johns
in which we traveled as a group around the
island. Meeting new people on any trip is a
certainty . This time, we were introduced to
some of the members of St. Catherine who are part
of a very close family and invited us in for
dinner and their condo-share.
Here we stayed at an old Catholic Nun convent at
St. Catherine Church in the town of Kapaa not
being used over the 4th July weekend. Our old
tour guide, John, who also has taken us to Bora
Bora, Africa, and France, had arranged a really
cool personal tour of the entire island and all
of its beauty. The island offers Wiamea Canyon,
Na Pali coast, gorgeous coral lined beaches, and
fantastic tropical rain forest. Plus we got to
meet and stay with many of the residents.
