- The first visited Japan were Portuguese in 1542
called Nanbanjin (???) (literally "southern

- When it was opened again, the foreigners were
called Ijin (??) (contraction of Ikokujin
(???) (different motherland people) - In Meiji period the japanese called themselves
as Naikokujin (???), so the term gaikokujin

foreigners, because increase the rate of
criminality,afraid of the directlness and
loudness, there is also phobia of foreigners) - The difficulties of understand others lifestyles
ans habits
- But because of the influence of mass media there
are many people who tend to imitate and want to
have a relationship with a foreigner ( but most
of the time with an 'hakujin' white people) - Young people want to study in abroad, it's
changing the image of the foreigners, the mixture
is now becoming popular
9CONCLUSION
With the globalization there will be more and
more foreigners in Japan, it is necessary to have
a mutual understanding and tolerance. And I think
that it is not so hard as we (foreigners)
imagine.
