  • Think about the people you know. Now picture
    someone famous in your mind. What made them
    famous? What did they do? How or why do you
    admire them? How are they different from you and
    the people you know?
  • In this project you are going to choose someone
    you consider famous and try to answer some of
    these questions.

  • Why are we doing this? Whats this project all
    about?
  • We are learning what makes someone famous.
  • We are practicing how to do effective/efficient
    research.
  • We are demonstrating how to collect facts.
  • We are perfecting our presentation skills using
    Power Point.

Steps to Success
  • Check out Ms. Kszepkas example.
  • Ask yourselfWhy is this guy famous?
  • What important things did she include in her
    project?
  • Do I think I would be able to find out all of
    those things about ___________?

Look at the Slide Show Score Sheet
  • Ask yourself Did Ms. Kszepka include all of
    those things in her example?
  • How many points/what grade would she get on her
    project?

Choose a subject for your project.
  • Get Ms. Kszepkas okay.
  • Get a fact sheet so you can record and organize
    your information.
  • Go to the hot list to check out the links so you
    can start your research!

Gathering Information
  • Use the library to find a book on your subject if
    possible.
  • Use the hot list or search engine to check out
    the web.
  • Fill in all the categories on the fact sheet.

Apply the Information
  • Check out Ms. Kszepkas example again.
  • Use the score sheet like a checklist to see if
    you have all the information on your subject.
  • Decide what information should be placed on each
    slide.
  • If you need some help with making slides, take
    the power point tutorial.
  • Start typing!

  • Ask yourself the following
  • How does my slide show look?
  • Did I proofread for spelling and grammar?
  • Do I have all the things mentioned on the score
    sheet?
  • What will I say when I present this to the
    class?
