Get more out of 11i with Oracle ADI

Agenda
  • Presentation assumptions objectives
  • Account Hierarchy Editor
  • Security Model
  • Web ADI
  • Conclusion
  • Feedback and Q A

3
Assumptions
  • You have already used or heard about some of the
basic features of ADI - perhaps journal
    preparation and reporting.
  • You know or have someone in your organization
that already knows how to setup and configure
    ADI.
  • You have someone in your organization who can
sufficiently iron out all the bugs involved in
setup and patching for Web ADI.

4
Objectives
  • To emphasize the need to get more out of your
applications by understanding all that they are
    capable of doing.
  • To demonstrate how Oracle is web enabling their
    applications.

5
Account Hierarchy Editor
  • With the Account Hierarchy Editor you can
graphically create, maintain, and review account
    structure hierarchies.

6
Account Hierarchy Editor
  • You can define new parent and child segment
values, as well as change parent/child
    dependencies.

7
Account Hierarchy Editor
  • You can also create new rollup groups from the
Account Hierarchy Editor and have your changes
reflected automatically in both the Key Segment
    Values and Rollup Groups windows.

8
Security Model
  • Functional Security.
  • Allows you to control access to specific Oracle
    applications functions for each defined
    responsibility.
  • Profile Security.
  • Allows you to Specify how Oracle Applications
controls access to and processes data based on
defined profile options. This model gives you
finer control over user access because you can
set security at the user, responsibility,
    application or site level.

9
Security Model
  • You must specify which security model you are
going to use by choosing the ADI Use Function
    Security Model.
  • ADI enforces a hierarchical security model. If
you have access to a high level function, you
will automatically have access to the related
    lower level features.
