Adding Graphics
  • Two major methods of adding graphics
  • Print Screen ? MS Paint ? Copy Relevant Region ?
    Paste into your document
  • Use the equivalent on a Mac
  • Use commercial software

Using Print-Screen
  • Print Screen
  • The print screen key captures the entire screen
    into the cut/copy cache
  • Steps
  • After getting the screen in the desired position,
    hit the Print Screen key (upper right side of
    keyboard)
  • Open a graphics editor and hit Ctrl and v
    simultaneously
  • If you are using MS Paint, you can now select a
    region and hit Ctrl and c simultaneously to
    capture the region
  • Once you have the region in the cut/copy cache,
    simply open your document and hit Ctrl and v
    simultaneously to paste the image

SnagIT
  • SnagIT streamlines the process
  • Open SnagIT
  • Select the option to capture A region to
    Clipboard
  • Hit ctrl-shift-p simultaneously
  • Now dynamically capture the desired region
  • After selecting the region, a graphics editor
    appears. From here, you can save the picture or
    simply hit finish to load the picture in the
    cut/copy cache. Hit ctrl and v to paste.

  • Neat and readable homework
  • Whatever screen capture method you choose, you
    will find that your homeworks have a more
    professional feel and appearance when you insert
    only relevant portions of the graphics.
