  • The Basic Plot of The Knife That Killed Me
  • The basic plot of the story is that there is a
boy called Paul Varderman. He hates the school he
goes to and is in the bottom class for
practically everything, but he isnt stupid at
    all.
  • He gets entangled in a large fight after
delivering the severed head of a dog to Goddo.
The dog turns out to be Goddos and in his rage
he clamps the dogs head over Paul.
  • Paul then retells that very story to Roth, the
school bully, who hands him a well-crafted knife
    for any future fights.
  • Paul becomes friends with the school freaks and
hangs out with them, until he gets tricked into
believing that Maddy has stood him up for Shane.
  • He then gets angry and gets himself involved with
the fight on the gypsy field, where he handles
the little kids. He then saves them, after which
he is charged at with a knife in the hands of a
Temple Moor, and that is where he dies, but not
    wholly.

  • What I thought of the novel The Knife That
    Killed Me
  • I liked the novel The Knife That Killed Me I
thought it was a brilliant book. The story line,
the descriptions of the knifes position between
every chapter they were great. The author
Anthony McGowan really did a fantastic job on
    this.
  • I liked the humour throughout this book,
especially the first chapter The knife that
killed me was a special knife. Its blade was
inscribed with magical runes from a lost
language, and the metal glimmered with a thousand
colours, iridescent as a peacocks tail or the
slick of petrol on a puddle.
  • I also liked the fact that Anthony McGowan began
describing the knife as if it was made inside a
legend It was made from a meteorite that had
plunged to Earth after a journey of a hundred
million miles. The first chapter is definitely
    my favourite part.
  • The twist at the end was also a great feat of Mr.
McGowans imagination I did not see that coming
considering that the knife had been paused frame
by frame throughout the book, ending up in Paul
    murdering Shane.
  • In my opinion this is a well-rounded book and I
would definitely recommend this page-turner to
    any secondary school child.
