What They Mean
  • The Coat of Arms and Heraldry were the way of
    identifying knights during battles and
    tournaments by placing symbolisms and colors on
    the shields.

  • Heraldry uses colors and
    symbolisms to identify the knights.
  • Symbols ranged from easy geometric shapes,
    elaborate drawings real and mythological animals.

  • They would use Heraldry in the early 13th
    century.
  • Each knight would have his own colors and
    symbols.

Coat of Arms
  • In the early Middle Ages they thought it was hard
    to tell who was fighting whom.
  • The knights of the 12th century solved this
    problem by creating special designs called the
    Coat of Arms.
