• The Kingdom of God is at hand. Repent and believe
  in the gospel.

1st Reading
The rainbow is a sign given to Noah and his
family after the great flood. It is a reminder
for us that when storms and the catastrophes of
life come, God is faithful to His promise of
being with us always. No matter how dark it might
become, God is always there to guide us.

2nd Reading

• St. Peter saw the flood as a metaphor for
  baptism. When we go our own way and refuse to
  walk the path God shows us, we find ourselves
  submerged in sin. Yet God is merciful and
  provides our way out, a way to salvation.

Gospel

• Jesus did not watch us struggle in life. Instead
  He joined us in the murky flood of our sinful
  state. He went to the desert and was tempted by
  the devil. He emerged victorious and announced
  the Good New of Gods reign! So we must repent
  and believe in the Gospel.

Remembering

• Lent is a time
• To remember who we are.
• To remember our direction in life.
• To remember our covenant with God.

Facing

• Lent is a time for gathering strenght.
• To face the storms of life.
• To face the battles of life.
• To face the daily temptations that come our way.

Reminding

• Lent is a time
• To remind ourselves, that through all these
  difficult moments, in our struggle towards
  conversion and search for meaning in life, God is
  beside us every step of the way.
