  • Organizations definition The experience of
    being capable of meeting life's challenges and
    being worthy of happiness.
  • Other descriptions for healthy or authentic
    self-esteem in contrast with a pseudo or
    unhealthy self-esteem make the distinction
    between.
  • It is somewhat difficult for a number of us to
    weed out the good teachings associated with
    raising our self-esteem with some of the
    dangers that are inherent with a humanistic
    mindset.

  • Not to be too picky in distinguishing between
    self-esteem and Christ-esteem.
  • The concept which is most important to learn from
    this lesson
  • Seeing yourself for exactly what you are in the
    eyes of the Lord.
  • Believing, accepting, and behaving as you are
    before God.

  • There are healthy teachings that are taught
    regarding healthy self-esteem.
  • Tolerance and respect for others.
  • Having integrity.
  • Accepting responsibility.
  • Handling criticism (properly).

  • Seek the challenge and stimulation of worthwhile
    and demanding goals.

  • What matters most is how you see yourself.
  • The worlds illustration in the promotion of
    self-esteem a kitten looking into a mirror and
    seeing a lion.
  • On the surface, not only doesnt there seem to be
    danger, it actually sounds healthy.
  • Yet, many believe a lie about themselves.
  • Others may say things that are not true about you
    good or bad.
  • Many believe things about themselves that are not
    true good or bad.

  • Trust your own being to be life affirming,
    constructive, responsible and trustworthy.
  • Wed like to think we know what is best for
    ourselves but experience and MORE IMPORTANTLY
    Gods word tells us differently. Jdgs. 2125
  • Jeremiah exclaims a principle that the rest of
    the Bible teaches. Jer. 1023

  • You can choose to please yourself before others.
  • It is considerate when you care about others
    feelings but aren't your needs just as important?
    Don't neglect yourself!
  • Gods word teaches us to prefer others before
    ourselves. Phil. 23 Rom. 1210
  • Are we going to listen to this world or the WORD?

  • What Christ-esteemed means to focus your
    esteem not on self but on your Savior Jesus
    Christ.
  • The ramifications to being Christ esteemed you
    think of yourself as God (Christ) sees you.
  • You see yourself as fashioned by God for His
    glory. Psa. 13916-18
  • You see yourself as lost because of your sins.
    Rom. 323
  • You see yourself as saved because of Gods
    gracious arm of salvation through Christ. Rom.

  • You become precious because you live to His

Conclusion
  • It does not matter what you think of yourself if
    such is inconsistent with how God views you.
  • You need to believe (by faith) exactly what Gods
    word reveals about you.
  • If you havent heeded Gods calling to be His
    child a sinner eternally guilty.
  • If you have a child of God eternally saved.
