3Safety Precautions
- Our OpenMind projects will become webpages that
will be live meaning that they can be viewed by
ANYONE in the world. How do we keep ourselves
safe? - Only use your username on the pages
- Do not include personal details about yourself
(example I play baseball on Tuesdays from 4-6 pm)
4Safety Precautions page 2
- Know that people will already know that you are a
student at New Albany Middle School, do not give
any additional information to make it more
specific as to who you are - Using the internet and making webpages is
important and fun as long as you use it smart!

to home. - Only really necessary if absent because we will
spend plenty of lab time - Use MindMap format
- First Box will be name at top of webpage
- Use countrys name and username (see Safety)?
7Branches vs. Text Editor

page. Historical Places, Recreational Places,

of America. Place 1 is linked from Historical
Places.

information written that will appear on the page - This information is typed in the Text Editor

Path

- View Panels Text Note Editor
- Is it okay to use www.google.com or
www.googleimages.com as the web address where I
found my pictures? - 2. NO! These two sites store pictures, but do
not own them. Would you site a book as library?
16FAQs page 2
- 3. How do I fix my webpage if it looks messed up
after I quick export? - 3. Go back to the OpenMind project and do an
Export Wizard. Make sure you select the actual
template you used and not the one label most
recently used - 4. I changed my OpenMind project, why isnt it
changed on my exported? - 4. Changes will not appear on the exported page
until you re-export. (see project diagram)
17FAQs page 3
- 5. Okay, so now I re-exported, but it looks the
old way on the internet? - 5. The internet version will not change until Mr.
Moore or Mrs. Parker transfer the documents.
This process takes a while, so they cannot do it
everyday. The pages in your OMHtmlExport folder
will appear the same on the internet. The
index page should be your first page. (see
project diagram)
